About Me, Hi…
Hello!
I’m Charlotte. I’m a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist offering evidence-based therapies for depression and anxiety. Psychological therapy is a process which involves learning strategies to understand yourself better and to find new ways of responding.
Having grown up with an awareness of adversity, I’ve always been drawn to work that makes a genuine difference in people’s lives. I feel truly privileged to do what I do, supporting people through a process that can be genuinely life changing is incredibly important to me and something I will never take for granted.
Over the years I’ve gained experience volunteering for addiction services, running an out of schools club for Autistic children and working as a support worker for adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. I joined the NHS in 2015 where I trained to become a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I developed a strong understanding of CBT by supporting hundreds of patients using low intensity psychological interventions. In 2019 I began my training as a high intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and qualified in 2020. Since qualifying I have been committed to ongoing professional development. I have completed nearly 50 hours of advanced level training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have attended additional training on working with low self-esteem, modern approaches to treating OCD, adapting CBT for ADHD, working with complicated PTSD, using imagery techniques in therapy and more recently adapting CBT for working with long-term health conditions.

My approach
Clients often describe me as warm, approachable and compassionate. I provide a space which feels empathetic and supportive, without feeling too clinical. Sessions with me feel relaxed whilst still being productive and effective. My approach involves treating you as a unique individual with your own unique set of needs. I am interested to learn about your problems, what symptoms you are having and how this is impacting your life. My intention is to help you work towards your goals, not to fit you into a box or make assumptions about your problem. Therapy with me is collaborative, which means that we will work together to find solutions that work for you. I believe therapy should feel worthwhile, effective, and respectful of the time and effort you’re investing in yourself.
